Who I Am

THE STORY BEHIND FORGED.

My name is Chris Harms. I am a father, husband, competitive bodybuilder, and owner and operator of Forged Health & Performance.

My story began when I was 15 years old, choosing to step outside of my comfort zone and take a weight training course in high school. I was tired of being under 100lbs. As I saw some progress, the following summer my parents decided to buy me a gym membership and I began training with my father - this was the real pivotal point. I fell in love with bodybuilding.

Growing up, I had seen the trophies and heard the stories from his friends, but this is when I realized the caliber that my father was in the fitness industry. From being an elite level bodybuilder, NPC judge, and also owning/operating a ~50,000 sqft, state-of-the-art health club with my mother - I learned more than I could imagine.

Fast forward several years to 21 years old, I developed a GI issue that couldn't get solved by multiple specialists. This led me to seek functional health help. I then met Austin Stout, who has coached and mentored me, and helped me identity and treat my issue, SIBO.

My father also went undiagnosed with a celiac disease, an autoimmune disease, for over 10 years. These two experiences tugged on me to help others with functional health issues.
